Most buildings blend into an urban landscape, however a selective few stand out as inspiring and definitive. Shimmering on its prominent water setting, it heralds a dynamic statement for commercial architecture in the Middle East. Geometry: the tower’s form is generated by the morphing of one shape at the base to another at the top. In addition, the dynamic of the vertical form is accentuated by rotating the floor-plates by a nominal angle at each level.
Façade (skin): the façade of the tower performs numerous functions .As an overlapping skin, the perforated solar screens and louvers achieve the smoothly flowing form that is the main aesthetic of the building.
The final main component of the design is the building’s podium. The design incorporates a fairly standard podium model wherein the main office entry & reception is at grade with multi-leveled parking located within the above podium levels. The general aesthetic of the podium design is to clad the façade in a similar louver / screen fashion to the tower skin; this is critical in achieving uniformity between the two components.
